Tuition and Expenses
During the internship, students enroll at NDSU for RS 496-Field Experience/Internship credit. Tuition is paid to NDSU. Internships are exempt from tuition discounts and cultural diversity waivers. Textbooks cost approximately $750.00 for the two year period and are distributed at the clinical site. Students are responsible for providing their own living accommodations and transportation during the internship. Designated parking for student interns is provided. A dress code, i.e. lab coat, scrub attire, white shoes, will be specified for interns. Professional liability insurance is provided to NDSU student interns, though students may purchase additional coverage if they choose.

Internship Admission Requirements
To be eligible to apply for the internship, NDSU students must have satisfactorily completed at least the first two years of courses on campus with a minimum GPA of 2.50, though some programs require a minimum 3.0 GPA. Transfer students must have completed at least 20 resident credits at NDSU prior to the start of the internship. Student selection is made by the affiliated hospital's Admissions Committee on the basis of academic performance, courses completed, work experience, references, and personal interview. ACT scores may also be considered. Application deadline is December 31, however, there is some variation among clinical programs. Interviews and intern selection will occur in the spring. For all programs, a non-refundable acceptance fee is required to hold your internship place. This amount is applied to program fees.

Additional information to assist you with internship application is available from the Department of Allied Sciences. It is recommended that you begin work with this major adviser at least one year prior to internship application.
