Standard Operating Procedures:
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are documents or "recipes" that describe how particular research activities are performed. SOP's are intended to eliminate redundancy of procedures that are routinely performed by investigators - and, therefore, would be repeatedly described in IACUC protocols.
Each SOP is given a unique identification number when it is processed and reviewed by the IACUC. Copies of current ("active") SOP's are kept on file in the IACUC Office and are available in the laboratory or at the work site where the procedures are to be carried out. The SOP document is also made available to all interested personnel. All active SOP's are also posted here on the IACUC website.
The IACUC SOP's provided below have been reviewed and approved by the IACUC. Instructions for drafting SOP's can be obtained from the March 1997 IACUC Newsletter, the IACUC Chair, or the IACUC Director. The SOP Cover Page Form should be completed for each new SOP submitted for review. The submission, review, and approval process for SOP's is identical to that of new protocols.
Below is the listing of currently approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). To obtain a copy of an SOP, please contact the IACUC Director, at 231.8114 or send an email to ndsu.iacuc@ndsu.edu
