Welcome to NDSU Research
Press Room for a snapshot of discoveries, successes and plans for the future.
North Dakota State University is an economic engine of the state, a top-ranked — and growing — national research power. Our citizens benefit from the work we do to educate students, conduct basic and applied research, create new knowledge and advance technology and economic development. NDSU’s commitment to serving the State and its citizens is founded in the university’s land-grant mission.
NDSU's research expenditures totaled more than $135 million in 2012, the most recent fiscal year for which expenditure information is available. Forty percent of the expenditures come from the federal government, including almost 28 percent from the Department of Defense, almost 20 percent from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and nearly 15 percent from the National Science Foundation, 13 percent from Health and Human Services, and 11 from the Department of Energy.
