The Corwin Hansch Award 2004 went to Rebecca C. Wade at EML Research GmbH and EMBL. Dr. Wade is, despite her young age, a mature scientist. She is using molecular modeling methods like molecular dynamics, Brownian dynamics, electrostatic calculations, and comparative modeling to understand phenomena involved in protein structure and function, protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions, and, recently, in cellular dynamics. The results have been summarized in well over 100 peer-reviewed papers. She is the Editor of the Journal of Molecular Recognition, an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Computer-aided Molecular Design, the Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling; and Biopolymers, and a member of “Faculty of 1000” for the “Theory and Simulation” section. We are looking forward to further insightful results in the future. Congratulations.
