Dr. Jack Rasmussen specializes
in molecular biology and biochemistry of plant diseases, particularly
rust diseases. Dr. Rasmussen continues to work on the flax
rust system that was used as the model for the gene-for-gene
hypothesis proposed by H.H. Flor when he was a faculty member
at NDSU. Dr. Rasmussen received his Ph.D. degree in 1987 from
the Michigan State University. He is assisted in the greenhouse
and laboratory by technicians Tracy Christiansen and Christine
Donohue. Dr. Rasmussen teaches a course in plant
disease physiology.
