Dr. Marcia McMullen received her Ph.D. from NDSU in 1983 and joined this department in 1984. Dr. McMullen is an Extension plant pathologist, with responsibility for providing management information about cereal and forage diseases. She also is the coordinator for the extension integrated pest management program at NDSU. Dr. McMullen has been an integral part of the dissemination of information about head blight or scab of wheat and barley, and about other diseases of economic concern for small grain producers. She maintains an applied research program in determining efficacy of fungicides for suppression of small grain diseases, coordinates a statewide wheat disease survey, and coordinates the annual Field Crop Scout Training School, available for one NDSU undergraduate credit. Dr. McMullen is assisted in her projects by Jim Jordahl and Scott Meyer.
