About our Faculty
|
Plant pathologists in the USDA, the Extension Service, and state
employees contribute to the effort to control crop diseases.
Responsibilities for diseases on different crops are assigned to project
leaders. Each project leader is assisted by research specialists,
technicians, graduate students, and administrative assistants. Scientists
in the department participate in collaborative research, which often
extends beyond the department and is often the result of combined efforts
of plant breeders, soil scientists, biochemists, and other scientists
working with pathologists. The variety of subject matter specialities
allows the department to offer a comprehensive curriculum as it trains
scientists to deal with future problems. |
