Director

Center for Biopharmaceuticals Research and Production

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North Dakota State University invites applications for the position of Director for a newly approved State of North Dakota Economic Development Center of Excellence called the Center of Biopharmaceuticals Research and Production or CBRP. Responsibilities will include but not limited to direct the Center, recruit and supervise research and office staffs, create a major research laboratory at NDSU, interact and work with local private sector partners to develop and test new vaccines and biopharmaceuticals and create new jobs. The person has opportunity to have Research Professor appointment in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The appointment is expected to begin on or after January 01, 2009.  Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or suitably related Biomedical or life-sciences disciplines, and at least 5 years of experience in vaccine and or biopharmaceuticals development in industry or academia, and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.  Preference will be given to those applicants with expertise in vaccine and novel delivery systems development, production and commercialization.

A highly competitive salary and a start-up package commensurate with qualifications and experience are available.  Currently, the fast growing department has 10 faculty members and 30 doctoral students, 6 post-doctoral fellows. Along with other research activities, the department participate in $10.5 million NIH funded Center of Biomedical Research Excellence. Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North Dakota State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor, with appointment beginning on or after August 15, 2009. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in pharmacology, physiology, or closely related field, have at least two years of postdoctoral experience with a strong record of scholarship, and possess good interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with training and research expertise in areas that complement existing departmental strengths in cancer and cardiovascular research. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded research program, teach and mentor graduate students, and participate in team-taught pharmacology courses offered to pharmacy students.  A highly competitive salary and a start-up package will be provided commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Currently, the fast growing department has 10 faculty members, 30 doctoral students and 6 post-doctoral fellows/research associates, and participates in a NIH-funded ($10.5 million) Center of Biomedical Research Excellence.
