Pheosia rimosa Packard 1864

Common name: Black-rimmed prominent.

Hodges #: 7922.

Identification: Rfw 12.6 mm, distinctive fw pattern, mostly white hws.

Similar species: 9299, 9301 (fws only).

Distribution: southern Canada, northern and temperate U. S. southwestward to California.

Hosts: larvae feed on Salix– willow and Populus– poplar.
