Minutes
1. There were no corrections to the minutes of the February 3,
2000, meeting.
Announcements: None
Reports:
1. Harrold discussed communication linkages with MSU and Concordia
College Assessment committees and the possibility
of inviting
them to participate in selected UAC functions.
Unfinished Business:
1. Harrold called for participants to attend the 105th Annual
Meeting of the NCA on April 1-4, 2000 in Chicago.

information. Bob Harrold will be one of the
participants. Bill
Martin expressed interest in attending. Please
contact Bob
Harrold if you are interested in these meetings.
The Assessment
and Institutional Office will be covering travel
expenses.
2. Harrold announced that the AAHE Conference will be held in
June
in Charlotte, NC. Closing date for this meeting
will be May 8,
2000. There is an opportunity for two committee
members to attend.

in attending.
3. If there are no volunteers from the UAC to attend these meetings,
participants outside this committee will be sought.
New Business
1. The visit to NDSU by Dr. William Wresch was discussed.
Dr. Wresch
will be on campus from April 10-11. The possibility
of a Monday
lunch was discussed for the UAC to meet with William
Wresch.
2. Bill Martin and Richard Shaw meet with Dr. Wresch to discuss
their
General Education Projects.
3. Discussion of speakers for the April 25th luncheon was discussed.
Faculty from the Nursing Department are a possibility
for this
lunch.
4. It was discussed that Brad Strand be the speaker for the opening
luncheon for the fall semester.
Old Business:
1. The Committee further discussed the Speaker and Luncheon Series.
The subcommittee needs to decide what to present
and how they would
like to present these topics. Martin suggested
that we find a
theme that will be of interest to most departments.
2. Chenoweth commented on publicity and ways to recruit attendees
for
the Luncheon series. Discussion followed on
if the invitations
should be open, selective, or focused on a particular
group.
The need to open up lines of communication with
Deans and Chairs
was discussed.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
