Bulletin Description:  This course is a survey of the four basic areas of marketing: product, price, place, and promotion.  Students will also be exposed to consumer behavior and strategic marketing.

Course Objectives: The course is designed to introduce students to the concepts used in marketing.  It is not intended to be a techniques course and is intended for the student who needs to understand the relevance of marketing in the overall context of the firm.  As a consequence, this course is equally appropriate for the student who does not plan to take any more marketing courses, as well as the student who plans to specialize in marketing and who will subsequently take advanced courses in the marketing area.
