Mouse River State Forest

The Mouse River State Forest consist of two parcels of public land north of Towner, North Dakota with two very different ecosystems. The Mouse River parcel contains a mix of hardwoods along the Mouse River. This parcel of land is across the highway from Towner State Nursery. The Vagabound parcel consists of a stunted aspen forest. It has very sandy soils with a high water table.

There are no developments on either parcel. There are undeveloped trails on both parcels of land and the Mouse River parcel has river access for fishing and canoeing.

The Mouse River is also known as the Souris River.
