TeachingBlog: could I find a more boring name? This blog was started as an expriment in courses management, but it has evolved and faltered as I have tried to make sense of the place of blogging in my academic life. The spring semester 2004 was a no-blog semester because, ironically, I taught my first online course and did not have time to blog. The summer of 2004 was virtually a no-blog summer, as I spent my blogging energy exploring Typepad as a blogging software I could use with my department and students. I have no specific plans for the fall blogging seasons--when the time and place are right, I guess.

About me!

Associate Professor of English, NDSU. I started blogging in the fall of 2002, as part of a first-year course focused issues related to new literacy, but my blogging has run hot and cold since then. I took an online test to see if my blog owns me or not, and according to the results, I am still in charge.

My TeachingBlog will contain a mix of filtered entries related to the courses, notebook entries related to readings I am doing, and occasional reflections on teaching and learning. If anything interesting happens in my personal life, I'll let you know, but don't hold you breath waiting for juicy stuff.
