| DESCRIPTION: |
The programmer analyst is a position within application systems development (ASD) that will provide technical development expertise for the NDUS ConnectND Oracle PeopleSoft ERP applications and ancillary systems. This position will develop new applications, enhance, implement and support the HRMS application capabilities and functionalities and other NDUS applications with advisement from programmer analyst and/or senior programmer analyst level staff. S/he will develop programs employing technical standards, methodologies and programming languages and tools currently available. S/he will conduct application testing, including setting up all appropriate test data and procedures. S/he will develop and maintain existing forms of documentation related to design and development assignments. S/he will evaluate, analyze, test and reapply objects as needed to support vendor application and tools patches and upgrades. To determine possible solutions or remedies for problems s/he may need to consult directly with ERP system users, other analysts and ASD personnel, and the application directors and their staffs. The location for this position is Fargo, North Dakota. |
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: |
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, MIS or related and two years of experience in application software development, or an associate's degree in the aforementioned fields and four years of experience in application software development
- Experience with COBOL, XML, SQL and relational database application development
- Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming Principles and system design
- Working knowledge of software such as Windows/Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and help resolve issues

PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
|
- Experience in PeopleSoft PeopleTools (SQR, PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, PS Security, PS Tree Manager, Integration Broker, Process Scheduler, Crystal reporting, etc.)
- Experience with HRM and/or Financials applications
- Previous experience in higher education
