The NDSU Gold Star Band is very proud of its rich tradition and long history. With nearly a century of history and traditions, the Gold Star Band is one of the oldest bands in the region. Initially conceived in the spring of 1902 and fully organized by 1904, the band's centenial aniversary will be celebrated during the 2003-2004 school year. The Gold Star Band is dedicated to upholding its traditions. However, as new members join and old members graduate, it is inevitable that some of the band's traditions and history is lost.
