Nathan Anderson (1999) is now working for Petroleum Development Corporation out of Evans, CO as a Drilling & Completions Engineer. The company's primary development is in tight gas sandstones in the Rocky Mountains primarily in north central, Eastern, and the West Slope of Colorado, and it also has production operations in the Appalacian Basin. Nathan's primary job duties include drilling completions, tight gas sand stimulation, stimulation effectiveness on production research, workover operations, & some directional drilling.
Kristi Johannes (1999) is working for Broadbent and Associates of Las Vegas, Nevada, and having "loads of fun." The company does Environmental Consulting including ground water monitoring, remediation and air quality.
Ned Kruger (1999) previously worked for the North Dakota Geological Survey in Bismarck, putting together a database compiling all the major coalbeds in western North Dakota. With this information, he created contour, isopach, and cross-sectional graphics that have been included in reports of coalbed methane potential in North Dakota lignites. He currently works for Broadbent and Associates of Las Vegas, Nevada. The company does Environmental Consulting including ground water monitoring, remediation and air quality.
Stanley Liszka (1999) is a geologist with Wenck Associates, Inc., in Maple Plain, Minn. At Wenck, Stan writes reports and conducts fieldwork for various cities, municipal, and county clients. Work has ranged from remedial investigations of soil/water to installation of monitoring wells.
Jennifer Lundberg (1999) is Staff Geologist for ATC Associates in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduation from NDSU, Jennifer worked for Geotechnology of Saint Louis, MO. There, she was involved with compaction testing at construction sites, inspection of drilled piers, and some concrete testing and field inspection. From there, she moved to Las Vegas, where she worked for Converse Consultants and then for SECOR. At ATC Associates, Jennifer samples monitoring wells, logs bore holes, helps prepare environmental site assessments and quarterly reports, and oversees soil sampling, operation and maintenance of remediation systems. During her free time she likes to hike with her dog, Katia.
John Marma (1999) completed his M.S. in economic geology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 1999-2000, John was on a Fulbright Scholarship to the University of Graz in Austria. There, he was involved in instrumentation courses that led to his analyzing core samples from Argentina for platinum group elements. Formerly Midas Geologist for Newmont Mining Corporation, in Midas, Nevada, John has been transferred into Newmont's exploration department looking for epithermal veins.
Thomas Rudolph (1999) is a technican for Dakota Technologies in Fargo, collecting data at fuel contamination sites using the laser induced fluorescence system incorporated into their Geoprobe truck, a variety of things to help out in the lab when he's are not in the field, and helping to build the Northern Lights dyes lasers that Dakota Technologies sells.
Brad Schneider (1999) is an environmental scientist and engineering technician for Braun Intertec Corporation in Fargo. At Braun, Brad is involved field testing and preparing reports for Phase I, II, and III environmental assesments, well monitoring, and asbestos inspections. He is also a project coordinator for various material testing jobs, including density and stability testing of subgrade and base materials for roads and running quality assurance testing on concrete and asphalt.
Renée Sietmann (1999) is an environmental field professional with Terracon in Cheyenne, WY. She is also working at her professional geologist certification.
Dean Vestal (1999)is completing his Masters degree at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where he conducted geomorphologic research on the Channel Islands, California. Currently he is manager of the GIS lab for SIU's Environmental Resources and Policy Program.
Jeff Walsh (1999) is is employed by Foth & Van Dyke Engineering and Scientific Consulting in the Twin Cities region. Jeff was working full time for the MPCA as a subcontractor monitoring groundwater and methane extraction wells on three different closed landfill sites in southern Minnesota. Jeff finished up his capstone project for an M.S. in GIS at the University of Minnesota. His project involved improving MnDOT's Mn\Model for the Glacial Lake Agassiz basin by using a combination of remote sensing imagery, soils data, and isostatic rebound elevation modeling. He is a "Project GIS Specialist" now, and focuses mainly on large predictive modeling projects in GIS, but he's also a Geodatabase Administrator and builds custom web-based GIS sites in ArcIMS. Jeff married Shelly in August '05, and they are the proud parents of Jada Makenna.
Jane Willenbring Staiger (1999) completed her Ph.D. degree in 2005 at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After graduating from NDSU, Jane enrolled at Boston University, where in 2001 she earned her M.S. degree studying landscape evolution and climate change of Antarctica (photo).
