NDSU Teacher Education

The graduate program in Teacher Education is committed to the further development of educational leaders who are dedicated to educational equity for all persons. The teacher education program is aligned with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) to reflect the importance of applied research and content development of educators.

Programs offered in Teacher Education focus on the development of educational leaders and are designed for the practitioner. Students will engage in action research as a component of the program. Due to the unique nature of the program, candidates must have access to a teaching setting.

Plans of study for either the M.Ed. or M.S. in Teacher Education may emphasize curriculum and instruction or a wide range of education disciplines. Students are encouraged to work closely with an academic adviser to ensure that personal and professional goals are clear and achievable.
