CITPG Meeting Minutes

Present: Altenburg, Bates, Ebeling, Juell, Klenow, Pikalek, Ross, Schlecht, and Wittrock

1. Minutes - The minutes for the February 2 meeting of CITPG were approved.

2. ITS Update

a. Jim Ross sent an email regarding the use of wireless at St. John’s University. Wittrock reported that the wireless committee has been collecting information from a number of universities that have developed wireless networks in support of pedagogical activities.

b. Jim Ross reported that the NDSU ConnectND steering committee has created a webpage. The page includes information about the transition and a list of questions that have been submitted to the steering committee. Answers area being developed. 3. Recommendations from the Cluster Subcommittee

a. The cluster subcommittee recommended that Library 14A and IACC 114 be equipped with locks as pilot rooms to test whether the door lock procedure will work to control interruptions of courses taught in the clusters. They also reported that there currently are 7 clusters that already have locks on the doors. CITPG accepted the recommendation for IACC 114. There was some question about whether the lock would be effective in Library 14A due to the fact that there was a collapsible wall and multiple entrances. Wittrock will ask the subcommittee about this issue.
