  1. Minutes - The minutes for the March 3 meeting of CITPG were approved.

  1. ITS Update
    1. Kaludis is on campus and has begun to collect policies, reports and other documents from ITS.  They will meet with ITS staff and the Provost/VP for Academic Affairs on Tuesday and Wednesday.
    2. The administration has asked ITS to find a way to prevent WinPopUp messages from appearing on desktops.  These are generated through the Windows messaging service and the problem has come from off campus marketers.  ITS is preparing documentation to instruct users in how to disable this service.
    3. Jerald Rostad has been called up for active duty in the National Guard.  Videoconferencing requests should now be directed to Sandy Sprafka.

  1. Cluster Use Policy
    1. There are no special licensing concerns that are brought about by having outside users sponsored by NDSU units use cluster computers.  The Cluster Use Policy was approved unanimously.  A copy of the policy can be found at: http://www.ndsu.nodak.edu/ndsu/cpg/reports/subreports/ClusterPolicy310.htm.

  1. Classroom Technology Subcommittee Report
    1. The Classroom Technology Subcommittee made a recommendation for new rooms to be equipped with permanent technology and for several rooms to be equipped with personal response system (PRS) technology.  The report was approved unanimously and the full text can be viewed at: http://www.ndsu.nodak.edu/ndsu/cpg/reports/subreports/classroom310.htm.

  1. Internet Users Subcommittee Report
    1. The Internet Users subcommittee presented a recommendation for Web Space Usage Guidelines.  A draft of the report can be viewed at: http://www.ndsu.nodak.edu/ndsu/cpg/reports/subreports/WebSpace310.htm.  The main feedback from the committee centered on the idea of a quota system.  J. Grosen stated that ITS would have an easier time dealing with a quota that was the same for all users and suggested a limit of 150mb.  Users who need more than this allotment could request additional space in a process that would involve peer review.  The committee was asked to further discuss this portion of the guidelines.

  1. Bandwidth Abuse Policy
    1. It was decided that a new policy was not necessary, so CITPG recommended that a Bandwidth Abuse Advisory be distributed to the campus.  The advisory was approved unanimously and the full text can be found at: http://www.ndsu.nodak.edu/ndsu/cpg/reports/subreports/bandwidthabuse303.htm.

Meeting adjourned at 3:19 p.m.
