  1. Minutes - The minutes for the November 4 meeting of CITPG were approved.

  1. Classroom Subcommittee report
    1. The classroom subcommittee has been asked to assist in identifying 3 new classrooms for full technology equipment implementation and 15 rooms for Personal Response System (PRS) technology (they are exploring whether some of the PRS systems can be placed on the portable carts).  The subcommittee has developed a short form to allow individual instructors to make requests for the rooms that they would like to see equipped.  CITPG members suggested that the form be modified to include information about buildings they would like to see with an instrumented room (even if they didn’t have a specific room request) and that the form include identifying information of the respondent.  The Classroom Subcommittee will circulate the form via the Faculty Listserv.

  1. General Announcements
    1. The Registrar will visit CITPG on December 2.  Issues to be discussed include:
      1. waiting lists for classes
      2. checking prerequisites for classes
      3. special needs for instructors (technology) and the scheduling of classrooms
      4. orientation and the activation of the official NDSU email account
      5. web ALFI
    2. The classroom subcommittee and the cluster subcommittee have begun meeting.  The Network Subcommittee will meet on Tuesday, November 26.  We will soon get the Internet Users Subcommittee and the Desktop Standards Task Force active.
    3. Provost/VPAA Schnell would like CITPG to explore options for conducting pornography filtering for campus email.

  1. ITS Update
    1. An emergency security issue arose in the past week.  Hardware and software upgrades for the primary and secondary servers have been made.  Crisis was averted..

  1. Virus Filtering
    1. D. Wittrock will present the virus filtering plan at the University Senate meeting on November 18.  Copies will then be sent to the Faculty, Staff, and Student Listservs and the filter will be activated.

  1. Wireless Open Forum
    1. CITPG and ITS will cosponsor an open forum on wireless technology on the NDSU campus.  We decided to hold the forum at the beginning of the second semester.  We need to select a moderator for the event.  It was suggested that we might have co-moderators, a person with IT background from the community and a campus person.  We will finalize plans at the November 25 meeting.

  1. Videoconferencing User’s Group
    1. A draft report of the Videoconferencing User’s Group report was circulated to the CITPG listserv by J. Ross.  A copy of the User’s Group membership and charge was circulated at the meeting.  The User’s Group is to report to Provost/VPAA Schnell within the next couple of weeks.  Comments on the draft report should be completed following the instructions in the email and should be sent to J. Ross.

Meeting adjourned at 2:55 p.m.
