CITPG Meeting Minutes

September 23, 2002, 2 p.m. Minard Hall, Room 120

Present: Altenburg, Balaz, Barnhart, Egeberg, Grosen, Juell, J. Kapaun, S. Kapaun, Klenow, Kloberdanz, Pikalek, Ross, Saini-Eidukat, Schlecht, Schnell, Tareski, and Wittrock

  1. Minutes - The minutes for the September 16 meeting of CITPG were approved with changes

 

  1. ITS Update
    1. The Forum had a nice article on the use of Personal Response Systems (PRS) at NDSU.
    2. NDSU will host the Second Virtual Conference on Genomics and Bioinformatics this week.
    3. E-mail should be faster on campus as ITS continues to upgrade.

 

  1. Meeting with Provost/VPAA Schnell
    1. The Provost/VPAA thanked ITS for taking over the work on the installation of PRS systems on campus.
    2. A taskforce has been created to oversee the continued implementation of videoconferencing capabilities on campus; CITPG will have a representative.
    3. The student technology fee will probably increase for the 2003-2004 year.
    4. The Provost/VPAA sees the implementation of desktop standards as a priority issue for the campus.  ITS is looking for involvement from CITPG, we will need to create a task force to address this issue.
