Meeting Minutes
September 16, 2002, 2 p.m. Minard Hall, Room 120
Present: Altenburg, Barnhart, Egeberg, Grosen, Juell,
Klenow, Kloberdanz, Pikalek, Ross, Saini-Eidukat, Tareski, and Wittrock
- Minutes - The minutes
for the September 9 meeting of CITPG are still under construction
- ITS Update
- Jim Ross announced:
- More disk storage
will be needed for Blackboard.
ITS is currently trying to determine how much and what kind of
storage is needed.
- John Grosen announced:
- Corporate Time has
been purchased by Oracle who has merge it into their groupware product. After lengthy negotiations they have
agreed to grant NDSU one final opportunity to purchase site licenses. The product will probable be supported
on campus for the next 12-18 months.
The campus should be looking for an alternative.
- Rosi Kloberdanz has
investigated the issue of student e-mail activation during
orientation. Apparently there are
some policy issues that provide a barrier to implementing this procedure. Rosi will have Dick Jacobson compile a
list of policy issues and other barriers.
- Announcements and Other
Business
- Provost and VPAA Visit
will Occur on September 23.
- Dr. Kristi
Wold-McCormick is the new Registrar at NDSU. Wittrock asked whether CITPG members would like to schedule
a meeting with her, the consensus was that this could be useful. Wittrock will attempt to have the
Registrar attend a meeting during the fall term.
- CITPG Planning
- A discussion was held
about planning and setting priorities for CITPG for the 2002-03 academic
year. We decided to start this
process by reviewing the recommendations made by subcommittees in past
years to determine the status of these recommendations. We will start by reviewing the reports
from the Networking Subcommittee and the Cluster and Classroom Technology
Subcommittee at the September 30 meeting.
