Your assignment is to respond to 2 of 3 questions I will provide with two developed, clearly organized essays that demonstrates to me your comprehension of the key topics discussed in our class, citing the key literature you need to support your points. While you are welcome to have read beyond the course materials and to use those readings in your responses, you are only required to know the materials assigned to the class. However, to earn a high grade, you will need to be able to choose the best sources to make your points most effectively.

You will receive your questions in class on October 8th for the midterm and December 10th for the final, and have time in class to brainstorm sources, etc. You may work on research, discussion, possible answers in groups outside of class, if you like—I strongly encourage it! This includes editing and peer review—please take advantage of the opportunity. However, each of you must type and turn in your own responses that reflect your understanding of the material and your writing style. Evaluation: exam
