CURRENT POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the forest pathology research program in rural tree and shrub plantings and research tree diseases
in other plantings and native woodlands.

 RESEARCH INTERESTS
General: Forest Pathology, windbreaks, conservation forestry, agroforestry.

Specific: Etiology, ecology, taxonomy, incidence, and genetic diversity of and environmental influences on pathogens as they relate to managing tree and shrub diseases. Foliage, rust, and stem diseases of pines, spruces, and junipers. Development of tree disease resistance. Affect of host genetic diversity on disease development. Phytoplasma (MLO)-caused diseases of hardwoods. Causes of decline in Great Plains trees and shrubs. Stress related host/pathogen interactions. Stem decay of hardwoods.
