- STOP: Animikie Group sediments at Jay Cooke State Park.
- STOP: Jay Cooke State Park, Carlton, Minn. Main campground. Showers.
SUNDAY, SEPT. 11: CARLTON TO LUTSEN, MN, ALONG U.S. 61
- STOP: Duluth Complex at Duluth (several stops along Skyline Parkway).
- STOP: North Shore Volcanic Group, Lester River, Duluth, Minn.
- STOP: North Shore Volcanic Group, Gooseberry Falls St. Park.
- STOP: Beaver Bay Complex, Silver Bay, Minnesota.
- STOP: North Shore Volcanic Group, Tettegouche St. Park.
- STOP: Cascade River State Park. Group camping.

- STOP: Interflow sandstone of the North Shore Volcanic Group.
- STOP: Tombolo north of Grand Marais.
- STOP: Rove Fm., Logan group, at Mount Josephine roadcut of US 61.
- CANADIAN CUSTOMS AND IMMIGRATION.
- STOP: Rove Fm on Sibley Peninsula east of Thunder Bay.
- STOP: Pass Lake Fm at Pass Lake, Ontario.
- STOP: Ontario Gem Amethyst Co. Mine, near Pearl, Ontario.
- STOP: Stillwater Tent and Trailer Park, near Nipigon. Showers available.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 15: TOFTE, MN TO ELY, MN
- STOP: Soudan Underground Mine State Park, at Soudan, Minnesota. Underground tour.
- STOP: Lake Vermilion Fm metasediments, Tower, Minn.
- STOP: Bear Head Lake State Park and Campground, near Ely, Minn. Showers available.

- STOP: NorthMet Deposit (formerly Dunka Road) - Mineral Exploration. Polymet office and drill site tour.
