Teaching faculty and staff are invited to a pedagogical
luncheon scheduled for 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, in
the Memorial Union Peace Garden Room.
Lisa Montplaisir, assistant professor in biological sciences and teacher education, will facilitate discussion on, "How Students Learn from Lectures and What Can Instructors do to Enhance Student Learning ?" The role of the lecture environment is a mainstay on the university campus. Lisa will present some of the latest research on this subject along with some of the results from her own recently completed dissertation. She will also provide practical tips for enhancing student learning.
The pedagogical luncheon, which will begin at
11:45 AM on 2/23, is designed to enhance student learning and comradeship
among teachers. It is also an opportunity to meet people from
different colleges, get ideas, and collaborate on interdisciplinary
projects.
The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic
