communication department will lead the session on  
"Assessing Problem-Based Learning from the Students' Perspective: One Department's Progress."


Teaching faculty and staff are invited to a pedagogical luncheon from 12:00 to 1:20
p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the Peace Garden Room in the Memorial Union.  Tim
Sellnow, Ross Collins, Mark Meister, Judy Pearson, and Deanna Sellnow of communication department will lead the session on  "Assessing Problem-Based Learning from the Students' Perspective: One Department's Progress."   

This session is devoted to using problem-based learning in courses ranging from introductory classes to graduate seminars. The presenters will briefly discuss the projects they developed and introduce students who completed the projects. The students will discuss their perceptions of the strengths and weaknesses of the problem-based learning activities. Those attending the luncheon will be engaged in a discussion related to assessing problem-based learning that is based on student feedback.
