Physics 110: Assignment 3

Due Wednesday, September 18.

  1. We always see the same face of the Moon as it orbits the Earth. What does this tell us about the Moon's rotation about its axis?

  2. What observations contradict the theory that the Moon gives off its own light?

  3. What evidence have you seen in class that all the planets orbit the Sun in (roughly) the same plane?
