Department
Information
The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Emergency Management offers
courses and programs that focus on the study of human behavior
in social settings. The
department offers a major and minor in Emergency
management, Anthropology,
and Sociology at the undergraduate level.
Department faculty also play key roles in the community development
minor, the women's studies minor, and the philosophy
minor.
The department offers a Natural
Resource Management undergraduate
major, minor and graduate degrees.
This program revolves around a social sciences option.
At the graduate
level, we offer a master' s in sociology,
master' s in anthropology, and a master' s and Ph.D.
in emergency management.
Faculty
The department' s faculty have
a wide variety of research interests that include sociology of
the community, community development,
and economic development. gender studies, medical sociology,
social psychology, demographics, social change, soc of work, soc
of religion,
soc of literature, social inequality, research methods, social
theory, Folklore, archaeology, physical anthropology, Germans
from Russia, Indians, peoples of the south pacific, Digital Archive
Network for Anthropology 3-D visualization.
