Dr. H. Elaine Lindgren has been a member of the North Dakota State University faculty since 1970. Her primary teaching responsibilities are social change, sociology of work, sociology of sex roles, and social inequality. In Fall 2005 after an illustrious careers, Dr. Lindgren retired.

Dr. Lindgren's research interests include social change, gender and citizen participation.   Recently,she completed an e-book entitled "Work Makes Life Sweet, or Does It?" This is a pictorial documentary of work in North Dakota. 

Author of: Land in Her Own Name.  This book is available in paperback at the Varsity Mart or Barnes and Nobel.  

Dr. Lindgren's most recent article published was "Coal, Cuba, and Courage: The Adventuresome Spirit of Annie C. Lind." North Dakota History, Vol. 67, No. 2, 2000.  In November, 2001, she received the North Dakota History's 2001 Editor's Award for this article.
