Summary of Class Presentation for March 31, 1999 Students were presented with four alternatives for how this class could continue: 1. as scheduled with C++ material through April 12th and then Object-Oriented testing material; 2. as an intensive four week class on design and programming since the instructor believes that MIS professionals need to be adequate programmers to succeed at their first few jobs in the field; 3. regular classes as scheduled with extra meetings two or three times a week that emphasize programming; 4. move on to object-oriented testing and debugging material for the remainder of the course. Replace the present assignments 4, 5, and 6 with exercises in testing object-oriented code. Students voted on these three alternatives today. The outcome was: alternative 1: 0 votes alternative 2: 42 votes alternative 3: 0 votes alternative 4: 4 votes. We will proceed with alternative two. Those students who elect to do assignments 4, 5, and 6 will not have to attend remaining class meetings but will have to take the final test. That test will draw only on material in the course summaries for the remainder of the course ( just the April summaries).
