Subject: Technology seminar 1/20/99 Faculty: Agriculture Communication invites you to attend a campus-wide Information Technology seminar, to be presented on January 20 by Dr. Kevin Gamble, Director of Extension Technology Services at North Carolina State University. Wednesday, January 20, 1999 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Century Theater, Memorial Union "How Information Technologies Are Changing the Way We Work" Dr. Kevin Gamble will highlight national collaborative projects and their innovative use of information technologies. He will explore the critical need to establish working relationships across disciplinary, organizational, and geographical boundaries to make such projects succeed. About the speaker: Dr. Kevin Gamble has a wealth of experience in information technology. He serves as the director of Extension Technology Services at North Carolina State University. This department is one of the undisputed leaders in information technology in the land grant system. In addition to the programs they provide for NCSU, they host web sites for 4-H, A*DEC, CYFERNet, the Sustainable Ag Network (SARE) and others. Kevin is a team member of CYFERNet, the Children, Youth, and Family Education and Research Network, and serves on the A*DEC Program Panel. He is currently leading a collaborative project with technology educators from Iowa State University, NCSU, North Dakota State University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, and West Virginia University. The project "Teaching Teachers to Teach via the World Wide Web" will help university educators develop, design, and deliver interactive World Wide Web-based instruction for non-formal courses. This seminar is open to all NDSU faculty and staff.
