in HIST 103
Service learning is an optional activity you can complete in order to earn participation points in HIST 103. Service learning activities are of two types, instructor-initiated and student-initiated.
What Is an
Acceptable Service Learning Activity? This is a qualitative judgment made by the graduate assistant with information supplied by the student. To initiate the process, write an e-mail to the graduate assistant stating 1. The general activity 2. The date of activity 3. More specifically, who (people, organization, program) is receiving service 4. How the activity qualities as history-related Some examples of acceptable history-related activities: participating in a heritage event or performing other service at a museum or historic site; helping with a centennial celebration; helping to restore a historic building; organizing a reunion; serving a fall supper. |
