FINAL RESULTS

notes:

1. Scores are shown below, after other information.
2. Totals are not shown when scores are missing, to avoid biasing the statistics.
3. Many students did well on the makeups and raised their scores considerably.
4. The final curves for grades ended up being a mixture of normal-based, university curve, and natural groupings, using a combination of the most liberal (lowest) cutoff points.
5. Borderline cases are reviewed automatically. Please do not contact me to ask; rather please wait until after grades come out.
6. There were a variety of problems from missed labs, etc. (one of the reasons it took so long to get scores reported). Some of the problems are represented by blanks in the table.
7. If you think there is something wrong with your score, contact the instructor.

(Note: The total maximum possible results from an upper ceiling of 16 points on lab report scores,
not 12 points. The score of 12 is the basic starting point and the actual score that most reports get. 
Almost no one ever gets 16, although it has happened. But reports often get more than 12. The total 
of 16 was imposed as a maximum total. The total of 16 per report is also used for calculating percentages 
which, as explained in class, don't really mean much and are not used for figuring grades.
Grades are based instead on the relative, normal distribution -- except in the unusual circumstance 
where a percentage borderline might be lower.)
