Chlorophycean palmelloid. Large cup-shaped plastid with sheathed pyrenoid.

Granular eyespot visible in some cells. Two contractile vacuoles. Hyaline region around cell.

Cells spherical-ovate except where compressed in masses. Two or four autospores. No flagellate

cells seen.
