Very small coccoid. Division by autospore production. Elongate cells divide on their short

axis to produce 2 nearly spherical cells. These then seem to elongate parallel to the

plane of division to produce two elongate cells lying next to each other with their

long axis parallel. Autospores always 2. Many remnants of mother cell walls seen attached

to cells.  This isolate in some ways resembles Choricystis, but in that genus, the mother cell walls

do not persist.
