Coenobia with pairs of cells. Plastid with prominent pyrenoid. Each cell in coenobium produces two autospores. These may remain attached to form a 4 celled pseudocoenobium for a short time. Cell walls are mostly smooth, but some have a few very small warts. Some cells also have very short "spines" at the apicies of the cells. No mucilage could be observed. Based on the apical crown (short though it may be!), this is a Scenedesmus sp.
