Dr. Edward Lee Deckard was born and raised on a farm near Cynthiana, Indiana. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this area, Cynthiana is located in the southern part of the state, near Kentucky. Ed has enjoyed a career at North Dakota State University for the past 33 years. (WOW...that's a looong time even for students starting out as Freshman! He is married and has a lovely wife, and three beautiful children and now two grandchildren. He encourages you to visit when possible or send e-mail messages. Ed very much enjoys hearing from students. In addition to PLSC 455/655, Cropping Systems: An Integrated Approach, Ed also teaches PLSC 110, World Food Crops, PLSC 491, Sophomore Seminar; PLSC 755, Applied Crop Physiology; and UNIV 496, Problems of World Hunger. Best of luck to each of you in whatever you decide to make of your career choice.
