Introduction:
The purpose of this assignment
is for you to prepare a planting plan, planting details, and specifications
for the plaza area at NDSU Downtown. The planting plan should be used to reinforce
assignments 1 through 6. It will also be used to demonstrate your
understanding of planting design, construction, and plant material installation. The base
plan for this sheets should have a professional character and quality.
You should continue this refinement on this assignment and on the remaining
assignments.


Description:
This assignment asks you to prepare
a planting plan, a specialized garden or area, and all necessary
details to support your planting plan (i.e.; sections of trees and shrubs
or perennials, etc. and any schedules to identify the plant materials used).
This assignment also requires the location and details for any edging or
plant support features. Assignment Seven will additional require
the expansion of your specifications (planting soils, lawns/grasses, planting
mulches, trees/shrubs, and perennials - if specified.
NDSU has requested that all plans and specifications fit into their office
format, which is indicated below.

Presentation:
NOTE: A specialized planting area within the overall
planting plan must also be included at a scale of 1/4" = 1'-0" or larger. This area should have a focused planting design
with a regional theme where students will demonstrate varying planting schemes
from year to year.
Please hand-in your assignment folded into
an 8-1/2" x 11" format with your individual specifications.
