Landscape Architecture Construction Design and Detailing

Introduction: 

The purpose of assignment eleven will be to design, detail, and specify a irrigation system for NDSU Downtown.  The plan, details, and specifications should be prepared in a  professional manner and integrated with the other drawing sheets prepared in Assignments 1-10.

Description: 

Design and detail an underground irrigation system to provide watering requirements for all planting areas within the plaza.  An irrigation plan indicating all heads and their spray pattern will be prepared along with all valves, controllers, piping location, and accessory for the system.  The water supply for this system is available at the SE corner of the building behind the dust collection system.

 

The NDSU Physical Plant has again requested that these plans and specifications fit into their office format which is indicated above and that the layering system match the system used on previous projects. NDSU has also requested computerized drawing files which will be used in their management office. This means that the hard copy (prints/copies) will only be used during construction and the computer drawings will be used by this office after the completion of the project for all new construction decisions and site changes.

Presentation:

It will be important to incorporate this assignment into your previous layout, grade/drainage, materials, planting plans etc.  You should prepare a professional oriented title area for this assignment at either 18" x 24" or   24" x 36" drawing  sheets and 8-1/2" x 11" for specifications. The package will include the following:

Cover Sheet/Orientation

2.0 Existing Conditions/Demolition Plan

2.1 Layout Plan - Locate all site elements and add the kiosk area.

2.2 Grading Plan - Provides existing grades and new spot elevations for your all new construction.

2.3 Materials Plan - Indicates all materials used in your design solutions.

2.4 Planting Plan – (Assignment Seven).

2.5 Electrical/Utility Plan.

2.6 Irrigation Plan – (Extra Credit - Assignment 10).

NOTE: The site plan at 1/8"=1’-0" and detail plans as required.

Evaluation:

10 Extra Credit Points Total

- 5 pts for drawing detailing

- 2 pts for specifications (must include all necessary sections)

- 3 pts graphics and clarity
