UPCOMING ASSIGNMENTS:
Public Relations/Advertising Campaign:
The conference begins Monday, April 24 with the keynote speaker at 7 p.m. All events are in the Alumni Center. The panel presentations are Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We will NOT have class on Wednesday, April 26.
Attend one or more presentations at the conference. Write a 1-2 page, double-spaced critique similar to the ones you've been writing about outside guest speakers. Briefly describe the presentation then react to what was presented. What did you think of the ideas being presented? Did you understand what he/she/they were talking about? Why or why not? What were two things done well and two that could have been done differently?
How could you report on the event (describe news values, potential audiences, and types of stories possible for print and television)?
Extra credit: You could write a story and send it to the Spectrum immediately! Remember, if the Spectrum runs your story you get paid and you receive extra credit if you bring me a copy of that edition. If you send them something but it doesn't run, we can still discuss extra credit for your efforts.
100 points = 50 oral presentation, 20 for peer critiques (include one of yourself!) and 30 for speaker critiques.
Group Materials - 45 points possible
Red River Communication Conference Speaker/Meeting Story:

Due: Monday, May 1 at 5 p.m. (or sooner!)
