Dr. Jean-Yves Roy, sharing a tale of "clinking" of the glasses".  During the middle ages, if a person was willing to "clink" their glass with you, then you could feel safe your beverage was not poisoned at a gathering, but if a person did not want to "clink" glasses for fear of splashing some of your beverage into their glass, you became highly suspicous that something might be unsafe with your drink!

Our trip to Town Hall in the Afternoon
Each year Town Hall gives the Students a short program and reception as well as a very warm welcome to the city of Angers.  This year was no different.  The students took the bus for the first time and was enjoyed by most everyone!
Only one student forgot his bus pass and house keys at home?  Any guesses as to which University this student was from???
Town Hall
After arriving to the town hall, we were greeted by the Councilman along with his two interpreters who had internships for the summer in Angers.  The young ladies are from Germany and the Netherlands.  A short presentation was given and then a lovely reception.  When this was completed, students were free to retire for the remainder of the day!
And what would a city be without the protection of the local police!  Angers is a very safe and friendly city.  Everyone wants to welcome and make you feel at part of their community of which they take a great deal of pride.

One of the major parks in Angers.  This one is located directly accross from the Town Hall.
Students were graced with a beautiful center piece of very colorful flowers.  Although Angers has had an exceptionally cool spring, several rose gardens are in full bloom.
