Title: Eloise Gerry Fellowships

Abstract: Sigma Delta Epsilon/Graduate Women in Science (SDE/GWS) awards will be made to women holding a degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, of outstanding ability and promise in research, and/or who are performing research at any institution in the United States or abroad. Awards are for research in the biological or chemical sciences only. The major component of the research can be either applied or basic.
Eligibility: The fellowship applicant must be enrolled as a graduate student or be engaged in postdoctoral or early-stage academic research. The applicant must also be a member of SDE/GWIS. Membership may be obtained by including $20 in membership dues with the fellowship award application.

Dissertation fellowships are available to women who will complete their dissertation writing between July 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009. To qualify, applicants must have completed all coursework, passed all required preliminary examinations, and received approval for their research proposal or plan by November 15, 2007. Scholars engaged in researching gender issues are encouraged to apply.

The Smithsonian Institute offers postdoctoral, predoctoral, and graduate student fellowships in fields that are actively pursued by the museums and research organizations of the institution. Fellowships are available for the following fields: animal behavior, ecology, and environmental science, including an emphasis on the tropics; anthropology, including archaeology; astrophysics and astronomy; earth sciences and paleobiology; evolutionary and systemic biology; history of science and technology; history of art, especially American, contemporary, African, and Asian art; social and cultural history of the United States; and folk life.

Honor Societies
Description: This is Golden Key's premier scholarship program. This scholarship supports members' post-baccalaureate study at accredited universities anywhere in the world.

Scholarships Available: 12 $10,000 scholarships
Eligibility: The applicant must be currently working on an undergraduate degree, or the applicant's first undergraduate degree must have been received within five years of the application deadline. The applicant must be enrolled, as a full-time student, in a post-baccalaureate program of study at an accredited institution during the academic year immediately following the granting of the award.
Criteria: Academic achievement, Golden Key involvement, and extracurricular activities.

Description: Any Phi Eta Sigma member may apply for a graduate scholarship. Chapters may submit as many graduate applications as they deem appropriate. Graduate applications may also be sent directly to the secretary of the Scholarship Committee at the national office address or may be submitted to the chapter adviser so that all chapter applications may be sent to the national office in one mailing.
Scholarships Available: The $5,000 scholarship will be payable in two installments: one-half for the fall semester and one-half for the spring semester after the submission to the national office of an official college/university fall semester transcript documenting full-time study.
Eligibility: GPA of 3.5/4.0 or higher. Full-time study is defined as nine or more graduate hours of credit.
