Nickel and Dimed:
On (Not) Getting By In America
by Barbara Ehrenreich

October 8-10, 15-18, 2009
Askanase Auditorium
Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 PM
Sunday at 2:00 PM

Director: Lori Horvik

Summary

You’ll never eat lunch at a restaurant with the same degree of comfort again after seeing this docudrama recounting the year journalist Barbara Ehrenreich spent living on minimum wage. Starting as a waitress/hotel maid in Florida, then cleaning houses in Maine, and finally working at the thinly disguised Mall-Mart in Minneapolis, Barb documents the lives of the working poor in America. Nickel and Dimed offers a poignant, yet cleverly entertaining, insight into the lives of people struggling to survive.
