Bill Law has been an adjunct member of the NDSU faculty since 1999, teaching
applied bass and jazz studies. Mr. Law has been an active jazz and pop bassist for more than 25 years playing with many top touring musicians including jazz artists Bob Mintzer, Tom “Bones” Malone, Louis Bellson, Clark Terry and Bill Watrous and pop artists such as Gary US Bonds, the Diamonds, Lou Christy, Tennessee Ernie Ford, and Leslie Gore.

Bill has a B.A. in Music from North Dakota State University and an M.A. in Music from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. Law has served on the Board of the Lake Agassiz Arts Council including two years as president, and has served as a grant advisory panelist for the Minnesota State Arts Board. He was an adjunct faculty member at Minnesota State University-Moorhead for ten years and is the past Executive Director of the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony. Bill is currently the Assistant Director for the Division of Fine Arts and is host of the weekly Prairie Public Radio program The Law of Jazz.
