February 21, 2002 Global Business for North Dakota When we think of "Global
Business" we think of doing business with customers outside of the
United States. However, "thinking globally" in business goes
far beyond merely transacting business with customers in other countries.
Succeeding in business in markets outside our trade area depends on having
an ability to appreciate cultures and world-views outside ones own.
Having this ability to appreciate other cultures means not only coming
to understand how people think and do business in other countries, it
also means having the wherewithal to rapidly and successfully employ different
tactics and strategies in virtually any situation, in order to compete
successfully in the global marketplace. KEY DISCUSSION POINTS
