Kimono:A robe with wide sleeves,
part of the traditional costume of Japanese men and women.

The bridal kimono is the most elaborate kimono worn. The bride wears an inner kimono of white or pastel colors. The outer kimono, called an uchikake, is heavily decorated with silk and metal embroidery. Pheasants and the color red are symbols good luck.

The furisode, or long sleeves, are only worn by young, unmarried ladies. A bride will wear the furisode for the last time in her life at her wedding.
