INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING THE ELECTRONIC REQUEST TO RECRUIT

For further information about NDSU procedures for filling these positions, refer to the NDSU Policy Manual at http://www.ndsu.nodak.edu/policy - especially to the policies listed below:

Be sure that ALL items on the Request to Recruit are completed. Use the position description as the basis for completing items #6 and #7 (see NDSU Guidelines for Developing Position Descriptions).

Complete the form and print a copy to circulate for approval signatures. You may wish to print an additional copy (or maintain one electronically) for department records.

Note: Only one copy circulates for approval signatures.

Circulate the Request form along with the following attachments for the appropriate approval signatures.

1) a copy of the memo appointing the search committee. (For positions that include a teaching responsibility, be sure that at least one student is included on the committee - see NDSU Policy 339 on Communication Proficiency).

2) a copy of a proposed recruitment pieces such as advertisement(s) and flyers.

Please note: placement and payment for advertisement is the responsibility of the department. The Equal Opportunity Office will post the position on the NDSU website and on Higher Ed Jobs Online (please submit an electronic copy of your advertisement to the Equal Opportunity Office). For faculty positions where the Equal Opportunity Office has data related to the position, you will also receive a list of women and minority doctoral candidates for possible recruitment.
