REQUEST FOR WHITE PAPERS
Issued: February 1, 2007
Deadline: 12:00 Noon, April 4, 2007
TO: Faculty in the Sciences, Engineering, and Mathematics (SEM)
FROM: David R. Givers, Co-Project Director, ND EPSCoR, NDSU Office
Gary Johnson, Co-Project Director, ND EPSCoR, UND Office
The ND EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement (RII) program was evaluated by a NSF review panel leading to a recommendation that we strengthen ties of existing faculty with the two State Research Initiatives (SRIs), SUNRISE and SPINTRONICS, and increase the critical mass within each. We expect to propose continuation of the SRIs in our next RII proposal to NSF EPSCoR and to implement the review panel recommendations. The anticipated ND EPSCoR RII proposal is October, 2007.
ND EPSCoR solicits white papers from researchers at NDSU and UND interested in supporting continued development of the SRIs. White papers should:
- Describe the research linkages of the proposer to the SRI research objectives.
- Provide evidence that the individual or team-proposed support would help the SRI achieve sustainable Center of Excellence status.
- Be prepared in consultation with current SPINTRONICS and SuNRISE Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators.
- Consist of three pages maximum, 1 inch margins, font size no less than 12.
Submit both:
1) Original and ten copies to one of the ND EPSCoR Co-Project Directors’ office prior to the deadline; and
2) PDF file to one of the Co-Project Directors via email attachment.
White papers will be reviewed by ND EPSCoR Co-Project Directors, in conjunction with SUNRISE and SPINTRONICS PIs, for possible inclusion in the next RII proposal.
