North Dakota NASA EPSCoR is soliciting pre-proposals from University of North Dakota (UND) and North Dakota State University (NDSU) faculty for the NASA FY 2008 Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN) for the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR).

The goals of this solicitation are to make significant contributions to the strategic research and technology development priorities of one or more of the NASA mission directorates and contribute to the overall research infrastructure, science and technology capabilities, higher education, and economic development of the jurisdiction.

In North Dakota, pre-proposals that address one of the ND NASA EPSCoR research focus areas will be given favorable consideration. However, pre-proposals on any topic relevant to NASA will be considered. ND NASA EPSCoR will be unveiling a new web site in January; PI's will be notified when it goes public.  

NASA is requiring a 1:1 match for this solicitation. Please see the full solicitation on the NASA NSPIRES website (http://nspires.nasaprs.com) for details. PI's must identify the sources of match in their pre-proposals.  

Checklist Requirements:
1) Cover Page listing the proposal title, total budget, match source(s), contact information, and names of the PI and all co-I's and collaborators
2) Pre-Proposal Text is limited to 5 pages (single-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins) describing the research question(s), primary methodologies, and relevance to NASA, and any previous results
3) References limited to one page
4) Tentative budget that provides a 1:1 match and identifies the source(s) of the match, including signature from any source listed. (For NDSU submitters, Proposal Transmittal Form is required.)

Email pre-proposal to Dr. Paul S. Hardersen at Hardersen@space.edu by the deadline of 5 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2008. NDSU submitters must email a copy to David.Givers@ndsu.edu. Pre-proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.  

Pre-Proposals will be reviewed by the ND NASA EPSCoR Technical Advisory Committee. Two finalists will be allowed to submit full proposals. The goal is to announce the two finalists by Monday, January 21, 2008. Full proposals are due to NASA on March 14, 2008.   For For more information, contact Dr. Hardersen at:
